The Year 2 students have been enjoying working on Mindfulness during their ‘Resilience Project’ lessons. We have been discussing what being mindful means, how it makes us feel and why we may find having a ‘mindful’ time during the day beneficial.
The Year 2 students focused on mindful colouring in, paying attention on the detail of the picture and using different colours to create a happy mind. Relaxing with some meditation before the activity gave students the time to allow their bodies and minds to feel relaxed.
Students have enjoyed listening to soft music whilst colouring in, saying that it made them feel ‘relaxed, calm, happy, peaceful and sleepy’.
